Thursday 13th August :: The Adventures of Prince Achmed :: Edinburgh Filmhouse :: 9pm

This one is a gift.

In 1926 film making was akin to witchcraft and, as such, was ideally suited to illustrate the Arabian Nights upon which the story of this feature is loosely based. Lotte Reiniger and Carl Koch collaborated to create what is now widely believed to be the oldest surviving feature length animation and Sink are very excited to be creating a new live soundtrack for this exclusive performance. Tickets here.

Strange Attractor :: Sunday 1st March 7pm

Strange attractor

Singing Moondog are an open membership choir who meet weekly to share songs of all traditions. During the Sound Shape gallery residency they have kindly agreed to collaborate with me on a sonic exploration of consonance and dissonance, the results of which along with some Moondog, will be presented at this special Strange Attractor. Also Emma Snellgrove mover in all ways and no stranger to this event will present pinhole zoetrope work, Fiona Hermse, resident artist at St. Margaret’s house and currently exhibiting in Galleries 2 and 3 will give us some insight into her process, ringmasters Sven Werner and Graeme Miller will come through from Glasgow to play hypnotic music using horses tail hair woven into piano strings and naturally Sink will Sink throughout. This is going to be a good one.

The performance will take place in Gallery 1 on the third floor of St. Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, EH7 6AE on Sunday 1st of March 7pm.

Tickets are £7 on the door.

The Strange Attractor event is the culmination of the Sound Shape gallery residency which will be running from now until the 1st March. I will be there most afternoons. Admission for the residency is free. Please come along and play.
